A Strategic Business Plan (SBP) is an important planning tool, critical management tool, and vital communications tool that (1) articulates the airport’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives; (2) keeps policy makers, airport management/staff, and stakeholders focused on achieving goals in order to realize the airport’s mission and vision; and (3) provides an actionable game plan for building on the strengths, addressing weaknesses, capitalizing on opportunities, and managing threats. Once implemented, as ASBP helps demonstrate the airport’s role and value (or increases awareness), justifies investment in the airport (or builds support), and outlines the airport’s financial performance (or fosters transparency).
